                                                Solid Waste – Transfer Station

Shoshone County Solid Waste is currently accepting applications for driver. Eligible candidates must be able to operate a backhoe, excavator and drive truck. Will be under the supervision of Solid Waste Operations Manager. 

Must possess the following: Class A CDL (REQUIRED), High School Diploma or equivalent, experience in/of heavy equipment, backhoe and truck driving or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test.

This is a full-time position with full benefits package that include medical, dental, vision and PERSI retirement. Starting pay for position is $14.70 – $16.57 per hour with opportunities for advancement.

                                            Shoshone County Position Opening

                   Light Equipment Operator for Road District 4 – Marble Creek

 

Shoshone County Public Works is currently accepting applications for the position of Light Equipment Operator for Road District 4. This position will be based out of our Marble Creek Shop. Equipment Operator performs a wide variety of duties, including construction and maintenance on all County roads and bridges including asphalt patching, crack sealing, seal coating, road buildup, shouldering, ditching, culvert installation, and other duties as necessary. May include long hours of operation in inclement weather and hazardous conditions.

Applicant must posses the following: CDL (required) High School Diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience in the safe operation and maintenance of light and medium equipment. A pre-employment drug test will be required.

Starting pay for this position is $17.44 per hour with opportunities for advancement. Optional training program provided for Idaho Road Master and Road Scholar certification.                                                                  Appraiser I

 

Shoshone County Assessor’s Office is currently accepting applications for a residential appraiser 1. This is a full-time position with a full benefit package, that includes medical, dental, vision and PERSI retirement.

Definition: Under the general supervision of Appraiser II, Appraiser III, Chief Deputy Assessor or Assessor. Performs appraisals of limited difficulty of property to determine market value.

Examples of Duties: Performs appraisal of limited difficulty of residential, agricultural, commercial and person property to arrive at an estimate (opinion) of fair market value, Interviews person familiar with property, takes measurements and makes sketches, inspects property for type and quality of construction, condition and functional design; determines “percent good” by independent judgement, Observes higher level appraisers in the performance of their duties and receives on-the-job training, Travels through designated areas, contacts property owners to arrange for appraisals, researches building permits, sales, leases maps and Assessor’s records, Answers questions of property owners and the public related to the valuation and assessment of property in the field and/or office, May be required to testify before local and state agencies; and in court, should appraisals be challenged, Attends approved specialized training classes and seminars, Performs related duties as required.

 Qualifications and Requirements: Must be certified by the Idaho State Tax Commission within 24 months of being assigned the duties of Appraiser I or Appraiser Trainee, Some Knowledge of current appraisal process, Some knowledge of assessment laws of Idaho, Some knowledge of interpersonal communications and public relations, Ability to observe details of property and arrive at an accurate and equitable appraisal using independent judgement, Ability to read legal descriptions, plat maps and plans, Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, Ability to work under varying and extreme weather conditions, Ability to work unsupervised, Ability to maintain confidentially on sensitive issues, Must posses a valid Idaho State Driver’s License, Must be Bondable.
