Eligible candidate must have truck driving experience and be able to operate a backhoe.  Performs duties that include but are not limited to: life objects in excess of 100 lbs; perform heavy manual labor tasks; stand for long periods of time; ability to identify various hazardous materials; and general knowledge of minor mechanical repairs.

Must have a current CDL Class A, general computer skills and skilled in communication with the general public.

Hourly pay range is $13.55 – $16.04 DOE.  This is a full time position with full benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and retirement.

Position Opening

Shoshone County is accepting applications for Public Works Director.  Administrative and supervisory duties related to planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the construction, maintenance and upgrading of county roads, bridges and operation of county parks.  Applicant should have the following skills:  management, heavy equipment with CDL or obtaining one at your own expense within 6 months, and awareness of Environmental Laws.  Clean driving record, and pass a pre-employment drug test. Request For Proposals

Public Defender

Shoshone County is accepting proposals from qualified law firms or individual attorneys to provide Public Defender services on a contractural basis in Shoshone County, Idaho.

Shoshone County is interested in filling this position with two (2) options available for consideration.  Option 1) contracts that coincide with the County’s fiscal year (October through September).  A six (6) month contract beginning April 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2019.  Option 2) Hired as an employee of Shoshone County that includes full benefit package: Health Insurance, PERSI Retirement, and HRA/VEBA Health Reimbursement Plan.

Contract with Shoshone County – compensation for services is up to $75,000 annually based on negotiated case load.  Two (2)  compensation options are available: 1. Contract for Legal Services with Shoshone County, or 2) Employee of Shoshone County.
